Mandy Wood

Creative Arts Therapist

I am an enthusiastic and caring Creative Arts Therapist and expressive arts counsellor. I’m passionate about enhancing personal wellbeing, enabling inner transformation, and the deepening of faith, hope and resilience.

In my practice I am person-centered, and aim to come alongside others to support their exploration of themes and experiences in their lives. I allow this process to unfold in a gentle and non-judgemental way.

I use a variety of easy, creative art forms to accompany the conversation, such as simple drawing, collage, writing, postcard images, found objects, sand-tray, play, symbols and movement.

No artistic skill is required from participants; the activities will gently support self-expression, reveal new perspectives and help make sense of lived experiences.

Experience with All Ages & Backgrounds

Mandy previously worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist with children, and has vast experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and ages. She has worked in community health and disability services, in clinics and schools. She also provides individual counselling within a not-for-profit centre. She has facilitated wellbeing workshops for groups in educational settings, work places, and especially enjoys leading contemplative retreats.
