Founder of Creative Space Counselling
I am a firm believer that everyone has the ability to thrive and make a meaningful life, no matter what age or stage.
20+ Years Experience
Over the past twenty years I have been privileged to work with children, families and community groups in a range of diverse settings. I have worked for schools, councils and aged care groups where English is a second language.
In schools I have worked with children and young people experiencing crisis through domestic violence, trauma, incarceration, mental health disorders, disabilities, ASD, ADHD and grief.
I work closely with families, teachers, carers and other mental health practitioners to ensure appropriate continuity of care.
I hold a safe, non-judgemental space, working from a person-centred and trauma informed framework. Under the umbrella of ‘Arts Therapy’ I incorporate different modalities including: narrative therapy, CBT, mindfulness, movement, breathwork, nature play, sand tray therapy, clay, painting, drawing, collage and a rich palette of various art materials.
With a background in the performing arts, groups sessions are dynamic, fun and collaborative. These group sessions engage clients to find their inner voice through movement, writing, creative exploration and play. This is closely intertwined with mindfulness exercises and meditation practice; helping clients to find their own centre.
With up to 15 to 20 percent of the population recognised as showing neurodivergent traits, I like to think of neurodivergence as part of the spectrum of human behaviour, with an emphasis towards strength-building resolutions. I believe everyone holds the key to their own success.
It can be overwhelming to try and find the right therapist, so I am happy for people to send me an e-mail with any questions they may have.
